Walletproof was the first project I ever published on Google’s Playstore. It’s purpose is to allow users to “scan” their wallets with ease, in order to find out if their NFC (contactless) cards information is vulnerable.
The app’s overall performance has been great as I was hoping to get around 200 downloads when first published. Right now it has been downloaded over 2,500 times from all over the world.
The way the app works is very simple. It just uses the NFC sensor of the phone to “scan” for any NFC cards near by. The user has to remove any cases or accessories from the phone and place it on top of their wallets. If the app succeeds to read the NFC card’s data then will display the Credit Card number, Expire Date and Issuer for verification purposes.
If the app fails to read the card information, but picks any other unparsable NFC signal, it will inform the user about the vulnerabilty of the wallet, but won’t provide any information about the card.
